SOS AFGHAN WOMEN
Inspirée par ce dessin de Coco, et comme pour tenter de répondre à ce cri de détresse, une initiative est en train de voir le jour. L'idée est de créer un réseau d'entreprises et d'universités françaises ayant des filiales et des partenaires à l'étranger, et notamment dans les pays voisins de l'Afghanistan, qui s'engagent à recruter des afghanes pour un poste, une formation, ou une bourse.
On ne demande pas la charité - des Afghanes éduquées, formées, diplômées, parfaitement anglophones, et qui ont occupé des postes en Afghanistan avant l'arrivée des talibans, il y en a dans tous les domaines. Elles peuvent être sélectionnées selon les mêmes critères que tout autre candidate. C'est une très petite minorité. Mais la soutenir, c'est mieux que de pleurer sur notre impuissance. C'est permettre à ces femmes, en travaillant temporairement à l'étranger ou en suivant des formations, d'être une source de revenus pour leurs famille et un facteur de changement social et économique pour leur pays.
Cet appel à l'action est officiellement lancé le 8 mars 2025. C’est l’Initiative SOS Afghanes.
Inspired by this drawing by Coco, and as an attempt to respond to this cry for help, an initiative is emerging. The idea is to create a network of French companies and universities that have branches or partners abroad, particularly in Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, and that commit to hiring women of Afghanistan for a job, a training program, or a scholarship.
We are not asking for charity—there are educated, trained, and qualified women in Afghanistan who are fluent in English and who held professional positions in Afghanistan before the arrival of the barbarians. They can be selected based on the same criteria as any other candidate. They are, of course, a very small minority. But supporting them is better than simply lamenting our helplessness. More than that, by working abroad temporarily or pursuing further education, these women can provide for their families and become agents of social and economic change for their country.
This call to action is officially launched on March 8th 2025. It is the SOS Afghan Women Initiative.
